2015 Leaf Heroes of Baseball

Year: 2015
Manufacturer: Leaf
Card Set: Heroes of Baseball
Card Number: 50
Card Type: Base

The lone Rollie card I picked up from my Black Friday haul from COMC.  I've been meaning to add this card to the collection for some time, but I just could see myself overpaying with shipping for this.  So it fits perfectly in my COMC order with free shipping.  Rollie hasn't been getting a lot of love that past few years with only a handful of cards featuring his likeness and most of those have been low numbered autograph cards from Panini.  Not that those can't and haven't been had for a decent price, but it's nice to have a good looking base card.

Great googaly moogally!! A new Rollie auto lands in the super collection.

I picked up Rollies' Leaf National base card pretty much as soon as the National was over and everyone was listing their goodies on eBay, but this card popped up a few weeks ago and blew me away.  I didn't know that Leaf had auto variations of these cards.

Yeah it's a sticker auto, but...

It's numbered only to 5!! And this is the only one I've seen listed and I got it for less than the price of a blaster.  Welcome to the collection.

2011 Leaf Legends of Sport Award Winners Autograph

I'd been wanting to pick up one of these Leaf Legends of Sport autos for a while now.
This is the first non-promo card I've gotten from the new Leaf and the only one I've seen in hand.  I have to say they are really well done.  The foil is great. Not over the top, but just enough to really make the card pop.  The best part is I found this for under 10 bucks delivered. And it's numbered to just 16!  I know that there were a ton of parallels, but I'm just not up on which one this might be.

Anyways a super card and auto to add to the Rollie Super collection.

Some new Rollie love.

I have yet to make it too a National.  I'm scare. Really. I'm afraid my brain would pop.  I ended up going to the Chicago Comic Con years ago back when I was in college hanging out with a group of comic artists, my brain almost popped from that overload. Imagine being able to see some of the rarest and most valuable comics only inches away from your greasy fingers.  And I'd always laughed at the stereotypical comic geek.  Fat, zits, walking around with a comic long box strapped to a dolly arguing with comic creators about the flaws in their plots.  That was until I saw it first had in Chicago.  This was 1997.

My tastes have changed. I still love comics and to draw them, but my tastes have matured and I like sports cards way more.  So I would imagine heading to the National would be a little overwhelming for me.  I've had guys I know up here go and said it was insane.  I can believe it.  Maybe next time it comes to Chicago I might make it. I have relative in Chi Town so that's more doable than heading to the East Coast.

You might say CB what the hell are you talking about especially here on the Rollie Fingers Collector?

Well Leaf was giving away a bunch of promo cards at the National and one of those happened to be a Rollie card.  I snagged this for super cheap, much cheaper than say actually attending the convention and it's a great add to the collection.

I have to say I love what Leaf has been doing with it's products and their designs are top notch.  I just wish I could afford some of it.  But I digress.  Without further ado, the 2012 Leaf National Rollie Fingers Promo card.
